Senior Accountant<p><strong>Robert Half</strong> is currently recruiting a <strong>Senior Accountant. </strong></p><p>Our client is a company specialized in global automotive distribution. </p><p><strong>The scope of responsibilities for this job include:</strong></p><ul><li>Oversee General Ledger operations to guarantee precision, punctuality, and adherence to professional accounting standards and best practices, aligning with BEGAAP, company policies, and procedures.</li><li>Manage Journal Entries, Balance Sheet Account reconciliations, payroll, taxes, AR and AP functions, ensuring meticulous accounting classification for all expenditures and documents.</li><li>Execute and supervise month, quarter, and year-end closings, along with conducting cash flow planning and treasury management, including Foreign Exchange currency hedging (USD, EUR).</li><li>Assume full responsibility for VAT(BE), Intrastat, and Tax management.</li><li>Prepare year-end accounts for each legal entity, followed by comprehensive tax declarations.</li><li>Foster and manage external relationships with tax authorities, tax advisers, and other officials.</li><li>Oversee insurance contracts.</li><li>Generate financial reports and compile annual BE statutory accounts.</li><li>Collaborate with the Finance team in Canada/Germany to ensure local statutory accounts and compliance.</li><li>Contribute to the development of divisional budgets and forecasts.</li><li>Conduct a thorough analysis of existing systems and processes to ensure the accurate recording of accounting data.</li><li>Identify, advocate for, and implement potential process improvements, actively participating in the continuous enhancement of the company's processes.</li><li>Ensure backup and continuity management within the general accounting team throughout the year.</li></ul></p><p><strong>The requested qualifications for this job include:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.</li><li>CPA licensed is a plus.</li><li>Have at least 5 relevant years of experience (Consultancy, Taxation, Audit or Accounting)</li><li>Speaks fluently Dutch and English, French is a plus.</li><li>Good knowledge of ERP accounting systems, preferably SAP, Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and relational queries.</li><li>Acts with integrity, honesty and compassion; confronts issues directly (avoids triangulation). Gives and accepts praise as well as direct/candid feedback.</li><li>Exhibits strong communication skills; applies tact and exhibits a respectful demeanor.
